Verbs

das Verb mit Präposition

In English: verb with a fixed preposition

A verb that always takes one particular preposition, which also decides the case: warten auf + accusative, träumen von + dative. The preposition is often not the one English uses, so learn verb, preposition and case together.

Example: Wir warten auf den Bus. (We are waiting for the bus.)
