das Passiv (Vorgangspassiv)
In English: passive voice (the process passive)
The form that puts the action in the foreground instead of the person doing it. Unlike English, German builds it with werden (not sein) plus the Partizip II. The doer can be added with von + dative.
Example: Das Auto wird heute repariert. (The car is being repaired today.)
