In English: state passive (sein + participle)
The passive with sein plus the Partizip II. It describes the result of an action, a state, not the action itself. Compare: Die Tür wird geschlossen (someone is closing it) and Die Tür ist geschlossen (it is shut).
Example: Das Geschäft ist bis Montag geschlossen.
