In English: relative clause

A subordinate clause that describes a noun. It begins with a relative pronoun (der, die, das...) that takes its gender and number from the noun and its case from its role in the relative clause. The verb is at the end, and the pronoun can never be left out as in English.

Example: Das ist der Film, den ich gestern gesehen habe. (the movie I saw yesterday)
