der Konnektor

In English: connector (linking word)

A word that links two clauses and shows the logic between them. The type decides the word order: und, aber, denn change nothing; weil, obwohl, damit send the verb to the end; deshalb, trotzdem, außerdem take position 1, so the verb follows at once.

Example: Es regnet, deshalb bleiben wir zu Hause. Wir bleiben zu Hause, weil es regnet.
