das Prädikat

In English: predicate (the verb part of the sentence)

All the verb parts of a clause together: the conjugated verb plus any infinitive, participle or separable prefix. In German the predicate is often split in two, with one part in second position and the rest at the end.

Example: Wir haben gestern lange gearbeitet.
