der Nominativ

In English: nominative (subject case)

The case of the subject, the person or thing that does the action. It is also used after the verbs sein, werden and bleiben. It answers the question wer? or was? and is the form given in the dictionary.

Example: Der Lehrer erklärt die Regel. Er ist ein guter Lehrer.
