die Konjunktion

In English: coordinating conjunction

A word that joins two words, groups or main clauses of equal rank: und, aber, oder, denn, sondern. It does not change the word order: the verb stays in second position in the clause that follows.

Example: Ich bleibe zu Hause, denn ich bin müde.
