du / ihr / Sie
In English: the three words for you
English has one you; German has three. Du is for one person you know well (family, friends, children), ihr for several of them, and Sie for one or several people you address formally.
Example: Kommst du mit, Paul? Kommt ihr mit, Kinder? Kommen Sie mit, Herr Weber?
